Better Business

Creating unique and relevant consumer experiences and delivering compelling retailer value relies on having an efficient and effective business.

This means continuously improving how we operate our business and striving for excellence in everything we do. We use best practice rating tools such as NABERS and Green Star to drive operational performance improvements, set clear expectations for our suppliers, make public commitments via our sustainability policy suite and communicate our performance through regular sustainability reporting. We also ensure our people can be their best through our learning and development, diversity and inclusion, and employee benefits programs such as flexible working.

Our success and the experience we create for our communities are deeply intertwined with our retailers’ success. We deliver compelling retailer value by continuously refining our product and service offering to help us both be more successful. This relies on having stronger and more intimate connections with both our consumers and retailers.

Understanding and delivering what’s most important to our retailers, and capturing opportunities to help them be more successful and sustainable at every touch point and at every destination is key to being a valued partner.

Understanding who our consumer is and the interactions and connections they desire from each of our destinations enables us to create unique and relevant experiences for them. In all of our consumer and community interactions, we want to be known for a better, easier and more enjoyable experience.

Significantly reduce the long term carbon footprint of our asset portfolio by implementing innovative technologies that improve energy efficiency, increase our uptake of rooftop solar, and automate superior asset performance to create sustainable destinations of the future.

Climate resilience

Resilient centres that are prepared for, and can support local communities during times of extreme weather events. We anticipate future weather projections and incorporate resilience measures in our developments and refurbishments to provide safe places for our communities and ensure we remain open for trade for our retailers and consumers during storms, heatwaves and floods.

Community significance

Driving positive social change and connection with our centres through our targeted community investment program. We support youth disengagement and unemployment programs at a national and local level, to improve the amenity and appeal of our assets and shape better communities. We also work with social and local enterprises to meet our procurement needs and enable our people to positively contribute to our communities through employee volunteering and workplace giving.
